When lockdown hit, we felt we had to do our part in making sure people stayed at home to help stop the spread of the virus. Naturally for us that meant standing in solidarity with our clients so we put together a little pledge to call on our fellow hairdressers to do the same…

The isolation hair movement was born!

Below was our call to our fellow hairdressers to rally the troops-

Calling all our fellow hairdressers! 

 First and foremost, we hope you are all safe and well in these strange times and of course keeping as sane as can be with all this uncertainty surrounding our industry at the moment and the many industries we work with. 

I imagine you are having to deal with many frantic emails, messages and calls from desperate clients just as much as we are. We've had everything from asking us to sell them colour, to actually going round to their home to resolve minor hair issues, and even getting upset when the response that you aren't able to is taken as them thinking that you simply don’t want to help. 

We're finding it both upsetting and difficult, as you all know too well, it isn't that we don't want to help at all, but that there is very little we can do. We're staying at home to save lives, a priority that's infinitely bigger than our hairstyles, and to encourage them to dye their own hair would be  irresponsible knowing the severe damage it could do. 

With that in mind, we as a team have been brainstorming ideas, for how we can still provide a reassuring voice to our customers and let them know we're still here for them however we can be and when it's all over.

 We've come up with the Isolation Hair Movement - #ImRockingMyRoots

The @isolation_hair_movement on Instagram will provide an outlet to show support to our clients and give them tips and tricks for how they can ride out the lockdown without getting their hair done or attempting it themselves! To show solidarity we have decided that we will be rocking our roots along with our customers. That way we can all relate and hopefully they will see were in it along with them. 

 This page is going to be both brand & salon neutral and most importantly ego free. We want it to be seen as a tool for all of our clients to get some ideas and advice, along with examples as to why a DIY colour is not the best option! We'll also be sharing pictures of our own roots, split ends and even grey hairs to bring a little light humour for everyone to relate to! 

 We've also put together (see below) a little newsletter to send out to our customers. Feel free to share it with your own clients if you think it might help and also encourage them to join the movement, rock their own roots for the time being and most importantly wait for you to do their hair!

 We'd love it if you got on board with us, to help us spread some love, a little bit of humour and a message that we think is worth sharing. 

Hopefully all this will be over soon! We are so looking forward to getting back to our busy salon lives.
